Process

Pretreatment

Is not necessary provided the products are bright metal. Any contamination or oxidation products such as mill scale, are removed by shot blasting.

Thermal Diffusion Galvanizing

The products are heated in batches together with zinc powder in closed rotating drums. The diffusion process occurs at temperatures between 320ºC and 450ºC, during the vapour phase, the zinc-iron alloy layers form in and on the surface.

Coating Composition

The gamma layer with 50% iron forms in and on the base material, then the delta layer forms with 25% iron and then the zeta layer with 90% zinc and 7-10% iron forms on the surface.

Layer Thickness

Adjustable from 20µm to 120 µm, uniform and reproducible

Follow-up Treatment

Chrome-free passivation and a clear sealer
